MSI China commences operations of its Beijing Branch

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd.
On 22 January, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (China) Co., LTD ("MSI China"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., LTD (President: Toshiaki Egashira), commenced operations of its Beijing branch.
Since May 2009, when MSI China obtained an approval from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to establish its Beijing Branch, they had been making necessary preparations and, on 8 January, the branch officially commenced its operations on the day it obtained an approval for opening the branch.
In Beijing, we are the first Japanese insurer to establish the business base and we are now able to directly provide insurance services to customers across Beijing.
MSI China now has the most extensive business network among foreign insurers, and operates in Shanghai (headquarters), Guangdong (branch) and Beijing (branch), which are the three major regional centers of the East China, South China and North China.
We will continue with our efforts to further expand our sales network and enhance service capabilities in the future.
