Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited (the “Company”) has decided to establish a holding company through a sole share transfer in April, 2008, subject to the approval of the shareholders’ meeting and approvals of the competent authorities. The Company hereby announces that the Company has obtained the approval provided in Article 271-18, Paragraph 1 of the Insurance Business Law of Japan, concerning the establishment of the holding company “Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group Holdings, Inc.” today.
