Lack of Description in Offer Documents of Savings-type Insurance

At Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. (President Hiroyuki Uemura), it has been revealed that some of the offer documents of savings-type insurance items printed in the past lack a certain cautionary note which should have referred to an installment amount described in an example that illustrated the post-maturity installment settlement.
The cases in question are now under investigation in order that a whole picture of the matter should be grasped, and then actions will be discussed based on the findings.

[ Lack of note in question ]
If the beneficiary opts to receive his/her cash value on maturity in installment settlement, the installment amount should be calculated at a committed rate of return applicable on maturity. Without stating explicitly that an installment amount in a payment schedule illustration was not intended as guaranteed future payment in the particular case, some offer documents just showed an example, assuming the committed rate applicable to the cash value as one available on the offering date.
