| You are hereby notified that as of the date hereof the Company determined the concrete acquisition method of treasury stock of the Company pursuant to Section 1, Article 3 of the former Special Law regarding the Cancellation of Shares, in accordance with the adoption of Section 4, Article 3 of the supplementary provision of the Law regarding the Partial Amendments to the Commercial Code, etc. of Japan (Law No. 79, 2001) as described below. |

| 1. Method of the acquisition: |
The Company will commission the purchase of treasury stock of the Company by the ToSTNeT-2 (the closing price transaction) of the Tokyo Stock Exchange to be conducted at 8:45 a.m. on March 1, 2002, at the closing price of ¥579 per share of the Company as of the date hereof (February 28). However, any changes to other transaction methods or other transaction times will not be made. Such purchase order is to be placed within the limit of such transaction period.

| 2. Contents of the acquisition: |
| (1) Types of shares to be acquired: Common stock of shares of the Company |
| (2) Aggregate number of shares to be acquired: 20,000,000 shares |
(Note 1) Number of shares to be acquired will not be changed. However, all or any of the acquisition of shares may not be conducted due to fluctuations of the market, etc.
(Note 2) Purchase of shares will be made based on the purchase order corresponding to the proposed number of the shares to be acquired. |
(3) Disclosure of the acquisition results:
The acquisition results will be disclosed after the end of the transaction period at 8:45 a.m. on March 1, 2002.
