Safety Helmet for Children [MSI Thailand Branch]

In order to reduce the severity of accidents happening when the children ride behind the motorcycle rider, Thailand Branch has been promoting ?afety Helmet for Children's project that provides safety helmets to children.
In August 2009, the presentation ceremony was held at an elementary school in Samutprakan Province, where the Deputy Governor and the Chief of Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of this province were invited as special guests.
At the ceremony, two thousands helmets were presented to ten elementary schools in that area, and a training course on Safety Riding was organized as well.

MS Frontier Re donates the saved cost of mailing Christmas cards (MS Frontier Reinsurance Limited)

A local daily newspaper in Bermuda reported a rather ingenious donation activity of MS Frontier Reinsurance Limited, a professional reinsurance subsidiary of MSI located on a small Atlantic island of Bermuda providing coverage for natural catastrophe risk.

The company sends over 600 Christmas cards to its customers and brokers worldwide every year, however, instead of sending them by post, the company decided to send them via email this year.

The saved cost of cards and postage worth USD2, 000 was donated to a local charity organization.

The company is planning to continue this activity in the future.

Gave donations for victims of Myanmar cyclone and China Sichuan earthquake

Donations collected from our staff were given to the Red Cross for the relief effort of victims of the cyclone that struck the central and southern part of Myanmar on May 2nd, and the victims of China Sichuan Earthquake that happened on May 12th. (May 2008)

Bangladesh cyclone disaster relief donation

956 employees contributed 1,565,000 yen that was donated to the local NGO Shaplaneer. The company has also contributed the same amount to Japan Platform*.

  • * A humanitarian aid organization supported by Japanese NGOs, the Government, and the Nippon Keidanren, which rapidly and efficiently carries out emergency relief work for refugees and people affected by natural disasters.

Donation to Fund Raising for Keyaki (Japanese Zelkova) Transplantation (Tohoku division)

We have collected contributions from our employees for the transplantation of the keyaki (Japanese zelkova) that will be felled due to the construction of the Tozai line subway on Aoba-dori Street in Sendai city. The 390,000 yen donation that was raised from the contribution of 198 employees was presented to the "Minami Hayama New Campus Committee for the Transplantation of Keyaki"* (Nov.30, 2007).

Akita prefecture rain disaster relief donation

590 employees contributed 1,014,000 yen that were donated to the Red Cross Akita branch to help in the relief work of the numerous people who were affected by typhoon no.11. The company has also contributed the same amount through the Central Community Chest of Japan to help the volunteer relief work (Oct.31, 2007).

Collaborating with the Green Fund's Autumn National Campaign (Tokyo Commercial Production Dept.)

We contributed 15,900 yen donated by employees to the Green Fund which aims to systematically maintain forests and collaborate internationally in afforestation efforts. (Oct.15, 2007)

Kumamoto prefecture rain disaster relief donation

766 employees contributed 1,352,000 yen that were donated to the Misato Disaster Control Head Office to help in the relief work of the many people who were affected by the heavy rains from the 6th of July. In this occasion, the "Matching Gift Program for Disaster Relief" was applied and the company contributed the same amount through the Central Community Chest of Japan to help the volunteer relief work (Jul.31, 2007).

Niigata prefecture Chuetsu Coastal Earthquake disaster relief donation

We have donated the 4,703,000 yen contribution made by 2,224 employees and the 100,000 contribution from the Niigata Prefecture Agents Association to the Niigata Prefecture Community Chest. In addition, the company donated the same amount collected from employees to the Central Community Chest of Japan to help the volunteer relief work. (Jul.16, 2007)

Solomon Islands Earthquake disaster relief donations

53 employees contributed 96,000 yen which were donated to Japanese NGO AMDA that continuously carries out medical practices on site. (Apr.9, 2007)

Noto Peninsula Earthquake disaster relief donations

1,398 employees contributed 2,921,000 yen to Ishikawa prefecture and the company has contributed the same amount through the Central Community Chest of Japan to help the volunteer relief work. In addition, not only were goods such as plastic sheets and work gloves provided but numerous employees were directly involved in the volunteer relief work. (Mar.25, 2007)

Donation of furniture and materials, shareholder benefits

Following precedence of donations made nationally upon establishment, the corporation regularly donates excess furniture and material generated upon relocation, renovation and layout change.
